Washington's new team unveils mascot
WASHINGTON A seven-foot eagle is the new face of the Washington Nationals. The city's new baseball team unveiled its mascot today.
Its name is Screech. It broke out of a big white shell just before the Nationals took the field against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The eagle wears a Nationals jersey and ball cap. At first some of the kids at the stadium didn't quite know what it was. Later they could tell it was an eagle.
It's Family Day at R-F-K Stadium, and that means there are some special activities for kids. They can take home a poster of the new mascot and even run the bases after the game.
