D-A says runaway bride had broken previous engagement
DULUTH, Ga. Prosecutors in Duluth, Georgia, say this isn't the first time Jennifer Wilbanks has dodged a wedding. Wilbanks is the bride-to-be who vanished days before the ceremony. That prompted a massive search around her home. She later turned up in New Mexico, initially claiming that she had been abducted but later admitted she ran away.
Prosecutors say she had been engaged once before. However, they gave no details about who she was supposed to marry then or why that engagement ended.
Her fiance now, John Mason, says they still plan on getting married. And an investigator says she was wearing her engagement ring when she was questioned yesterday.
