Man accused of throwing chair during N-B-A brawl gets probation
PONTIAC, Mich. A Michigan man has avoided prison time for his role in last year's big N-B-A brawl in suburban Detroit. Bryant Jackson has been given two years probation after telling a judge he was remorseful. He'd been accused of throwing a chair during the fight.
The judge had said when Jackson pleaded no contest to assault and battery charges in March that he would be given as much as three months in jail -- but that he could get probation if he showed remorse.
Jackson was the only person charged with a felony in November's brawl
He was accused of throwing a chair that hit several people, and also of tossing a drink at the Indiana Pacers as they left the court.
Trials for the five players charged will begin in August.
