Police: Two dogs killed their elderly owner
GLENWOOD, Ga. Police in Glenwood, Georgia, say two mixed-breed dogs have attacked and killed their 74-year-old owner. Neighbors had reported a commotion Thursday night at the home of Laverne Ford.
The retired nurse's aide lived alone with the dogs and many cats.
Police arrived at the scene to find a larger dog sitting near the body and both dogs with blood on them.
The larger dog was shot by the officer when it threatened to attack. The smaller 30-pound dog ran into the bathroom, where it was locked inside.
Neighbors say the dogs had become mean and that the woman had a gate to keep them out of her living room.
