A-B-C airs its 'Fallen Idol' investigation
NEW YORK A former "American Idol" contestant has shared what he says is proof of an affair with Paula Abdul, a judge on the popular Fox T-V talent show. Corey Clark told A-B-C's "Primetime Live" about the alleged relationship. Clark reached the final twelve on the show in 2003 before being thrown off for failing to reveal an arrest. "Primetime" showed phone records it said detailed calls between the 22-year-old contestant and Abdul -- including one lasting 155 minutes.
Fox network has promised to look into Clark's claims, but notes that he has an incentive to seek publicity.
A-B-C's unusual expose of a network competitor comes during a ratings "sweeps" month.
