PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- The House has passed a bill creating a small business advocate at the state Economic Development Corporation. The advocate would hear concerns from small businesses about new regulations and pass them on to the appropriate agencies. The bill provides for the Economic Development Corporation's director to appoint a staff person to serve as the advocate.
