State announces flu shot clinics for adults
PROVIDENCE, R.I. The state Department of Health is announcing the initial schedule for flu shot clinics. The health department is working in partnership with a number of organizations to distribute the flu vaccine to high-priority adults in Rhode Island.
The flu shot clinics are designed for high-priority groups including people age 75 and older, adults with chronic medical conditions, and all adults 50 or older with mild asthma or emphysema.
To get a flu shot, people over the age of 75 must provide proof of age. Others must bring a note from a doctor stating that they are in a high-priority group.
The health department plans to offer 30 vaccination sites throughout the state.
