GTECH holds ceremonial groundbreaking for new Providence headquarters
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

PROVIDENCE, R.I. Lottery giant G-Tech held a ceremonial groundbreaking yesterday for its new, 80 (m) million dollar headquarters in downtown Providence.

Governor Carcieri, Senator Jack Reed and Providence Mayor David Cicilline were among the elected officials who participated in the ceremony.

The ten-story, 210-thousand square-foot building will be erected in the empty lot next to Waterplace Park and across from the Providence Place Mall. It's scheduled for completion in 2006.

Five hundred employees of the company will work in the building. Its ground floor will be rented to restaurants and retail shops.

G-Tech's current headquarters is in West Greenwich.
