Sex makes women happy -- commuting makes them crazy
WASHINGTON They may find it hard to admit to each other. But most women don't really enjoy the routine of raising kids, and they do enjoy time alone watching T-V. Social scientists using a new approach to measuring happiness got 900 working women in Texas to really open up about what makes them happy and what makes them crazy in their daily lives. The research shows having sex is the high point of the day -- just above socializing. And the only thing less satisfying than grocery shopping and cleaning the house is commuting to and from work.
Richard Suzman (SOOS'-man) of the National Institute on Aging says if scientists take this technique called Day Reconstruction Method and apply it nationwide, they could come up with an important new measure of well-being in America.
The study's findings are published in the journal Science.
