Suspect in arson fires due in court today
BALTIMORE A security guard accused of torching an upscale subdivision near Washington, D-C, says police have "the wrong man." Aaron Speed spoke to W-U-S-A T-V before his arrest yesterday. He is due to appear in federal court in Greenbelt, Maryland, today.
Speed, who's 21, says he will take a polygraph test to prove his innocence.
Speed is an employee of Security Services of America, which guards the development 35 miles south of the nation's capital.
The fires on December sixth burned 26 homes and did ten million dollars in damage.
Officials have not commented on a motive.
Speed's wife's stepfather says he has gone through some difficult times lately, including the death of a baby this year, but that he doesn't believe Speed was involved in the fires.
