Second suspected group suicide in Japan in as many days
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

TOKYO A Japanese police official says four people are believed to have killed themselves by carbon monoxide poisoning inside a parked minivan.

It's the country's second suspected group suicide in as many days.

The two men and two women were found at a deserted dam about 95 miles outside Tokyo. Two stoves containing burnt charcoal were found in the car.

Yesterday, four men were found dead in a Tokyo apartment containing charcoal stoves and sealed shut with tape.

Police are investigating whether today's deaths were part of a suicide pact arranged over the Internet. Experts say news of group suicides can spark copycat incidents.
