Christmas Tree lights up at Capital
CAPITOL HILL The U-S Capitol ushered in the Christmas season on Thursday evening, with the annual lighting of the Capitol Christmas Tree. House Speaker Dennis Hastert flipped the switch to illuminate the "People's Tree" during the ceremony.
Ten-thousand lights adorn the 65 foot-tall red spruce tree that was cut from the George Washington National Forest in Virginia.
The tree will remain illuminated from sunset until eleven o'clock every night from now until New Year's Day.
