Record Powerball winner's granddaughter reported missing
CHARLESTON, W.Va. Record Powerball lottery winner Jack Whittaker has reported his 17-year-old granddaughter missing. Police in West Virginia say they're treating the case of Brandi Lasha Bragg as "an unusual disappearance." She hasn't been seen since Saturday.
Two years ago Whittaker won a 314 point nine (m) million dollar Powerball jackpot and took the lump sum prize of 113 (m) million dollars.
Whittaker has been in the news several times since. He spent 14 (m) million dollars to set up a nonprofit foundation for needy West Virginia residents.
He is named in two lawsuits by female employees of a racetrack who allege Whittaker assaulted them. He says his vehicle, business and home have allegedly been broken into.
And just this week a magistrate ordered him to undergo substance abuse treatment and surrender his driver's license following an arrest.
