Jury deliberates Scott Peterson's fate
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. The jury in the Scott Peterson murder trial will begin its first full day of deliberations today as they consider whether to sentence him to death or life in prison without parole. Jurors were handed the case Thursday after prosecutors and defense lawyers made their final arguments. The jury was able to deliberate for a couple of hours before returning to the hotel where they are being sequestered.
Prosecutors are pressing for the death penalty, stating Peterson is "the worst kind of monster" for killing his pregnant wife, Laci, on Christmas Eve nearly two years ago.
Peterson's attorneys say there's already been enough death in the case.
