PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- A 21-year-old man has pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Prosecutors say Duane Taylor admits he fled from Providence Police officers last August and tossed away a handgun.

Taylor entered the guilty plea earlier this week. He is scheduled to be sentenced in March. He faces up to ten years in federal prison and a 250-thousand dollar fine.

Taylor has two prior convictions for drug trafficking and, as a felon, is prohibited from possessing firearms.

TaylorÔŅĹs residence is not reflected in court papers.
