Virginia man sentenced to three years for selling dogfighting videos
PITTSBURGH A Virginia man has been sentenced in Pittsburgh to more than three years in prison for selling dogfighting videos. Authorities say two videos feature dogfighting montages, while a third shows pit pulls attacking hogs.
The man is the first person sentenced under a 1999 federal animal cruelty law. He was convicted in January of three counts of selling depictions of animal cruelty.
The man's lawyer argues the law violates his client's First Amendment right to freedom of expression.
