Illegal Activity in Blackstone Park
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

Providence--Providence police are cracking down on sex in the park.  They tell us the Blackstone Park on Providence's east side is a haven for illegal activity.

As night falls, residents say lewd behavior takes place in the park- complete with drug dealers and sexual acts.

During the day kids play in the park and residents say they're tired of seeing the left over drug paraphernalia or condoms.

Eyewitness News has learned that police presence in the park is about to be stepped up. Lieutenant Paul Campbell of the Providence Police Department says they have directed their officers to the park to ride through with bicycles to monitor activity in the park.

Police are also encouraging residents to stay out of the area after dark while they investigate the acts in the park.
