Bristol Enforcing Truck Ban
BRISTOL, R.I. (AP) -- The police plan to begin strictly enforcing a state law prohibiting large trucks from passing through downtown Bristol. The measure was signed into law last year, but police have been reluctant to give truck drivers the 75 dollar tickets.
Lieutenant Nick Guercia says that will change and officers are going to start enforcing the large truck ban. The state statute prohibits trucks weighing more than four tons from passing through downtown unless it's destined for a local business.
