"Press Quick"
It's called "Press Quick" and if you read the box you'd think this product was the answer to those long hours standing over your ironing board. It claims to convert your iron and board into a pressing machine, well, is there a wrinkle in it's claim? We find out...Does it Work?
Carol Pepper knows all about dirty laundry! She's lived and breathed it for 40 years working at Luxury Cleaners in Lincoln but Carols work doesn't stop here, at home she has a husband and daughter who depend on her ironing skills to iron their wrinkles.
Carol
"Jeans, shirts for my husband.."
Carol irons 3-4 times a week and would love to cut that time in half..so we found the perfect product for her, Press Quick...it claims it can press both sides at once...the reflective metallic non stick cover is supposed to reflect heat up so that both sides of the garment are ironed at the same time! And the non-stick iron cover is supposed to protect fabric from scorching..
Susan/Carol
"If you could cut your ironing time in half would you spend $14.99? Carol/ 'Oh yeah, if it worked.'
We tried Press Quick on a number of fabrics, even on silks, on high heat, the fabric was protected...but what about it's claim to iron both sides at once? We've got wrinkles here, and there..ok, go for it.. After a few seconds of ironing the sleeve....Let's see!
Carol
"No, no. it didn't work.
We tried a heavier cotton with lots of wrinkles next, and still, we saw ver little change.
Carol
"I would still have to touch it up."
But the lighter the fabrics, the better it did work...spandex blend, or poly blend, seemed to work the best...instead of having to iron both sides of the pant leg Carol only had to press one side to get the wrinkles out. The claim that using Press Quick will make your clothes look like they just came from the cleaners is only true on certain fabrics. So, unless you have a lot of silks, and poly blend clothes, you'll still be pressed for time. Carol gives Press Quick a 5 out of 12.
