Verizon Now offers "Direct TV"
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

Call for Action has learned that starting today, Rhode Islanders will be able to get their phone service, internet access, cell phone, and now their satellite TV all from one company. Consumers are demanding better service, at a better price forcing communication companies to take notice. Competition is at an all time high. Today, Verizon is hitting the Rhode Island market with big discounts on package deals that now include Direct TV.

John Vincenzo, Verizon Spokesman

"The more you get the more you save."

John Vincenzo a spokesperson for Verizon says this new partnership will allow consumers to get one bill for all their services from one company...no longer will consumers have to pay a different company for internet access, cell phones or their satellite TV...now they will offer it all and Rhode Islanders are the first in the country to get it.

John

"Given the fact that we've talked to customers in Rhode Island and they indicated they would like flexibility and options, it made perfect sense to start here."

Eric Palazzo, Public Utilities Commission

"Consumers are looking for competitive choice."

Eric Palazzo with the P.U.C  says with Verizon making the jump into satellite TV will mean the competition is likely to follow, and who wins? The consumer.

Eric

"That's great news for consumers, what it does it afford everybody an opportunity, #1 for choice and #2 what's most reliable."

Rhode Island customers who buy Verizon's best package, which includes Direct TV, unlimited all-distance calling, and online DSL, will save over $240-dollars a year. But you have to be a new customer of Direct TV to get in on these big discounts.
