Two sentenced in smuggling heroin disguised as part of suitcase
PROVIDNECE, R.I. (AP) -- A federal judge has sentenced two men to 70 months in federal prison for their roles in smuggling heroin into
Rhode Island.
The heroin had been chemically mixed into a vinyl-like slab and disguised as part of a suitcase.
Freddy Alonso Osorio and Jaime Restrepo-Mejia pleaded guilty to conspiracy and possessing more than a kilogram of heroin with intent to distribute last spring.
They were sentenced today in US District Court in Providence.
