Soldier's remains returned home from Iraq
WARWICK, R.I. The body of a National Guardsman killed in Iraq returned home yesterday. Sergeant Christopher Potts' flag-draped coffin was flown into T-F Green Airport.
He was killed a week ago during an attack in Taji, north of Baghdad.
Potts was a 38-year-old father of two from Tiverton.
A marine mechanic, he had joined the Guard in 1990 and was a member of A Battery, First Battalion, 103rd Field Artillery.
Potts' funeral will be held Wednesday in Portsmouth, followed by a burial in Middletown.
In addition to two sons, Potts is survived by his wife, Terri.
