Nightclub fire attorneys due in court in criminal cases
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Lawyers in the criminal cases stemming from last years deadly nightclub fire are headed back to court today.
Theyre meeting with Superior Court Judge Francis Darigan as they prepare for trial.
Three men face charges of involuntary manslaughter for the February 2003 fire, which killed 100 people.
Nightclub owners Michael and Jeffrey Derderian and the former tour manager for the band playing at the club were indicted in December.
They each face 200 counts of involuntary manslaughter.
The fire began when the bands pyrotechnics ignited flammable foam placed near the clubs stage as soundproofing.
