Powell says U-S will rethink parts of its relationship with France
Paris-AP -- Both the U-S and France say they want to put their disagreements over Iraq behind them. But Secretary of State Colin Powell says, "We're not going to paper it over and pretend it didn't occur."
He spoke in Paris, after a meeting with France's foreign minister.
Powell says the U-S doesn't intend to punish France -- but that it will take another look at joint cooperation with the French "in the light of changed circumstances."
But he also told reporters that the U-S would like to "work out any remaining sharp edges" that are left over from the disagreement on Iraq.
