Update
URI Wants To Arm Campus Police Officers
The University of Rhode Island is one step closer to arming it's campus police force. At the state house today the senate passed a measure to allow the officers to carry firearms. And that now means that the bill moves to the house.
A similar bill was passed by the senate two years ago, but it died in the house.
Rhode Island is one of the few states that currently does *not* arm campus police at public colleges.
