A single car accident in Attleboro knocks out power to the neighborhood and sends one man to the hospital. 

Police say the driver was traveling on route 1, near mendon road, when he lost control and struck a telephone pole. 

The impact was so great, it knocked down the pole and knocked out power to the area. 
 

So far police do not believe speed or alcohol played a part. 

Massachusetts Electric had the power restored within a couple of hours.
