(Providence-AP) -- The state Department of Health is recommending the reopening of four area beaches.

The department says itÔŅĹs safe to reopen King Park Swim Area in Newport, North Kingstown Town Beach, Saunderstown Yacht Club in North Kingstown, and Scarborough State Beach South in Narragansett.

The recommendations are based on tests showing bacteria levels within acceptable limits.

Conimicut Point Beach in Warwick, Warren Town Beach and sections of Scarborough State Beach North and Third Beach in Middletown remain closed.
