Five armed robberies in twenty four hours in Providence
Topping Eyewitness News today, five armed robberies in twenty four hours. And Providence police think they all may be related.This rash of robberies is our top local story this morning.Three of those robberies happened in the capital city late last night.First, a video store on Westminster Street was held up. A cashier hit in the head with the back of a gun.Then, an employee at a clothing store on Pocassett Ave was pistol whipped, as the thief gets away with jewelery, watches and clothes.And a short time later, a Shell gas station on Union Avenue - robbed at gun point. The suspect gets away with three hundred dollars.And, Wednesday another Shell gas station was hit. The frightened employee and a customer were both terrorized.The fifth hold up was at Brother's Market on Douglas Avenue.So far, no arrests have been made.
