Scott Peterson's ex-girlfriend opposes gag order
Modesto, California-AP -- The former girlfriend of murder suspect Scott Peterson has filed court papers opposing a gag order in the case. Amber Frey contends the gag order would prevent her from defending herself from personal attacks.
Frey's attorney, Gloria Allred, says her client has been humiliated by intense news media coverage of her affair with Peterson and needs to protect herself.
Allred filed the motion before a hearing scheduled Friday to discuss a possible order barring lawyers and others from talking about the case.
Scott Peterson was arrested in April on charges of murdering his wife, Laci, and their unborn son after their remains washed ashore in San Francisco Bay.
