Wayward whale heads toward ocean
CAMDEN, N.J. Officials believe a wayward whale that's called the Delaware River home for a week is headed back to sea. Jamison Smith of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Marine Fisheries Service says Helis (ay-LEE') was spotted south of Camden, New Jersey, last night. The beluga whale was near the Adventure Aquarium.
Smith headed home after spending the weekend whale-watching. He says the whale may have had an easier time finding fish to feed on in the river than in the wild.
The whale is estimated to be about 30 years old.
