PROVIDENCE, R.I. Attention will be focused on those with asthma problems at an event at the Rhode Island Statehouse today.

The ceremony is being organized by the American Lung Association of Rhode Island and the Rhode Island Asthma Coalition. It's all part of World Asthma Day.

Lawmakers and others can check their lung power by taking a Spirometry or lung function screening. Also, Senator Lincoln Chafee and Congressman Patrick Kennedy will be recognized for their support of clean air and asthma initiatives.

The lung association is also expected to release a report looking at air quality in Rhode Island.

The ceremony is scheduled for 3 pm in the Statehouse Rotunda.
