Rader to enter plea in B-T-K serial killings case
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

WICHITA, Kan. The man police say is the B-T-K serial killer is expected to plead innocent today to strangling ten people.

Dennis Rader was arrested in February in connection with the killings that date back to the 1970s. The murders kept residents in Wichita, Kansas, on edge for years. The self-imposed nickname stands for "Bind, Torture, Kill."

Court officials say they expect his arraignment today to last less than two minutes.

Because the crimes were committed before Kansas passed its capital punishment law, Rader will not be eligible for the death penalty.

Court officials say his trial will likely start more than a year from now.
