New Bedford Explosion

New Bedford--An explosion in one local city has residents on high alert and police looking for answers.

It happened around 1:15 this morning.  Police say they received several calls about an explosion in the area of the Devalles School on Katherine Street in New Bedford.

When officers arrived, they searched the area and say they did find some debris from an explosive device.

So far, no arrests have been made. The incident is still being investigated.
