LINCOLN, R.I. (AP) -- Fifteen people were taken to hospitals with minor injuries after a RIPTA bus hit a lightpole in Lincoln this morning.

Lincoln police say the crash, at 7:50 a-m, happened in the parking lot of the Lincoln Park gambling center. They say passengers were knocked out of their seats and onto the floor.

The bus was a Route 54 bus from Woonsocket.

RIPTA spokeswoman Karen Mensel says the bus had heavy damage to its right front corner.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash at this hour.
