Fire department gets federal loan for renovations
LINCOLN, R.I. (AP) -- The Lonsdale Fire District in Lincoln is getting a 240-thousand dollar federal loan to renovate its fire station.
The loan is for 40 years at four-point-two-five percent. The money will be used to add six new bedrooms, two bathrooms, a locker room and a utility room to the fire station.
The station is located in the town�s former Legion Hall. The fire district serves a population of about six-thousand.
