Providence mayor gives state of city address
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

PROVIDENCE, R.I. Providence Mayor David Cicilline says his city is, (quote) "poised for greatness" in his state of the city address last night.

Cicilline says his administration has cleaned corruption and has restored people's trust. He called it a new foundation upon which Providence can grow. He touted new contracts with several city unions as signs Rhode Island's capital city was entering a new era.

The mayor also noted violent crime has dropped in the two years he's been in office and initiatives to bring economic development to the city's neighborhoods.
