Terri Schiavo's parents to hold funeral Mass
Email to a Friend Printer Friendly Version

GULFPORT, Fla. The parents of Terri Schiavo (SHY'-voh) plan to hold a funeral Mass for her tonight in Florida.

Schiavo died last week, nearly two weeks after her feeding tube had been removed. Her death followed a lengthy and bitter legal fight between her husband and her parents over whether to keep her alive.

The dispute extended to the treatment of her remains. Her parents wanted to bury her in Florida, but her husband prevailed in having her cremated.

He says he'll bury her ashes in his family's plot in Pennsylvania. He has not said when that service will be held, but a court has ordered him to notify her parents of his plans.
