US Travel
STATE DEPARTMENT Traveling north or south of the border? A few years from now, you better remember to bring your passport. Bush administration officials tell The Associated Press that Americans will need to show a passport or other travel document to re-enter the U-S from Canada, Mexico, Panama and Bermuda by 2008.
It's part of an effort to tighten border security. The officials say Canadians will also have to show a passport to enter the U-S. They have been the only foreigners allowed to come into the country with just a driver's license.
The travel rules will begin at airports and then spread to border crossings.
