Senate bill would offer alternative to nursing home care
PROVIDENCE, R.I. The Senate has passed a bill that would offer an alternative to nursing home care. The legislation would create a Program for All-Inclusive Care, or PACE. Backers say it would help senior citizens qualify for placement in nursing homes by coordinating medical and other services. The program also would include managed care service delivery for eligible participants.
The bill was introduced by Senator Stephen Alves, a Democrat from West Warwick.
