Fourth memorial service held for Terri Schiavo
SOUTHAMPTON, Pa. Another memorial service Friday evening for Terri Schiavo (SHY'-voh) two weeks after her death. Relatives and friends gathered at the church outside Philadelphia that she'd attended as a child, and where she married in 1984. About 500 people were there, including her parents, brother, and sister.
In his homily, the priest told the gathering, "If Terri's death has taught me anything, it is to make me starkly aware that matters of life and death are truly in our hands."
Schiavo died March 31st, 13 days after her feeding tube was removed in Florida. The legal battle between her husband and her parents attracted national -- and congressional -- attention.
This was the fourth memorial service since Schiavo died. Her husband, Michael, plans one, also in Pennsylvania, but he hasn't yet said when.
