Freetown, Sierra Leone-AP -- Liberia's president has been indicted by a U-N-backed war crimes court in neighboring Sierra Leone. The court accuses Charles Taylor of bearing "the greatest responsibility" for war crimes during Sierra Leone's vicious ten-year civil war.
Taylor is a former warlord who is accused of backing rebels fighting for control of Sierra Leone's diamond fields and governments. The rebels were notorious for hacking off the hands, feet and ears of victims.
Americans and Britons are serving as prosecutors for the court, which has already indicted the rebels' leader.
