Lynch to seek second term as Attorney General
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Attorney General Patrick Lynch says he's running for a second term in 2006. Lynch told The Associated Press today of his intention to run for re-election. The Democrat took office in 2003, shortly before a deadly fire ripped through a West Warwick nightclub, killing 100 people. He says the fire has made for -- quote -- "two of the toughest years any attorney general has ever had." Lynch has also been a vocal opponent of KeySpan's plan to expand a liquid natural gas facility in Providence, and a plan to build a new L-N-G facility in Fall River, Massachusetts.
