Schwarzenegger calls for crackdown on steroids in bodybuilding
COLUMBUS, Ohio Arnold Schwarzenegger is calling on bodybuilding officials to crack down more aggressively on use of steroids. The one-time bodybuilding champ-turned-California governor also suggests calling a summit of leaders of the sport to talk about how to deal with the problem.
He made the comments while attending the annual Arnold Classic bodybuilding competition in Columbus, Ohio.
Schwarzenegger says the bodybuilding community has to step up testing procedures and be more aggressive. He says he'll start pressuring the two muscle magazines where he holds the title of executive editor to do more to fight steroids.
Schwarzenegger has admitted using steroids on the way to seven Mr. Olympia titles, saying they were legal at the time. He's been taking criticism from Democrats who say he's sent mixed signals on steroids.
