Classes to resume after fire evacuates college building
WARWICK, R.I. Classes are expected to be back on today at the Community College of Rhode Island's Knight campus after a fire yesterday shut down the school. The smoky, two-alarm fire forced more than two-thousand students and staff members to evacuate a large building on the Warwick campus.
No one was injured in the fire, which was contained in a first-floor student government office.
The fire started around 12:40 p-m.
Officials canceled classes shortly after as firefighters worked to ventilate the building.
Fire officials were investigating the cause of the blaze.
