Democrats use radio address to push for expansion of child tax credit
Capitol Hill-AP -- One Democrat says Republicans offered help to more than 30 (m) million families -- and then snatched it from those who need it most. Connecticut Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro said in today's Democratic radio address it's up to Democrats to restore the child tax credit to families left behind by the Republican-led Congress.
The Senate has voted to extend the credit to workers who make too little to claim the entire thing. But the House hasn't acted on the measure.
DeLauro continued the party's sharp criticism of tax cuts for big corporations and wealthy citizens. She said eight (m) million families will get nothing from the recent tax bill -- but 184-thousand (m) millionaires will have their taxes cut by 93-thousand dollars each.
