Raymond Anderson Accused Of Assaulting Prison Guard
(Providence-AP) -- A man convicted in the carjacking murder of two college students three years ago has been accused of assaulting a prison guard.
Raymond Anderson is scheduled to be arraigned this morning in U-S District Court in Providence.
The spokesman for the U-S Attorney in Rhode Island says Anderson allegedly assaulted the guard while being held at the Wyatt Detention Center. The center is a privately operated facility
that's used by federal authorities to detain prisoners until they're reassigned to prison.
Anderson was sentenced to 30 years for his role in the execution-style killings of Amy Shute and Jason Burgeson in June 2000.
He has been transferred to a federal penitentiary.
The arraignment is at 11:30 a-m before Judge Robert Lovegreen.
