Massachusetts Men Accused Of Bribing TF Green Bagage Screener
(Providence-AP) -- Two Massachusetts men will be in federal court in Providence today.
Darrall Redburn, of Weymouth, and Angelo Troisi, of Peabody, admitted they bribed federal baggage screeners in an attempt to help their company win a contract.
They admitted they gave one thousand dollars to workers to speed up a baggage screening system being tested last year.
The men were owners of Air Tag, which manufactured the system being tested at T-F Green Airport in Warwick.
The men offered the screeners money to work faster, knowing that the machine had to screen and seal a bag in less than thirty seconds to be deemed successful.
They face a maximum of two years in federal prison and a 250-thousand dollar fine.
