Survivors of the club fire tragedy and family of those killed or hurt in the fire testified before the fire safety commission Thursday night. Family members told the 17-member panel fire safety laws need to be more strict. Other witnesses urged the commission to require more places of assembly to have automatic fire sprinklers. The goal of the emotional hearing is change Rhode Island laws and prevent a similar tragedy from happening again.
