Mike Montecalvo
A Woonsocket native, Mike is a graduate of LaSalle Academy and Rhode Island College. He has been a broadcaster in the Rhode Island market since 1981.
Mike has received over 40 community service and Associated Press Awards, including the Meeting Street "Unsung Heroes Award" and its "Walter Cryan Award." Mike has helped raise over four million dollars for local charities,including the Alzheimer Association, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, the MS Society, Meeting Street Center, the Rhode Island Blood Center, the March of Dimes, the Diabetes Foundation of Rhode Island, Aids Project Rhode Island and many more.
Mike spent 21 years in radio, working at 103.7 WRX, B101, WHJJ and others. He was the original news anchor/producer of the Imus in the Morning show in Providence until March 2004.
Mike is a member of the Board of Directors for Prevent Child Abuse Rhode Island, the Diabetes Foundation of Rhode Island and the finance council at Saint Anthony's Church in Woonsocket, where he also volunteers as a lector.
Besides his broadcasting career and charitable endeavors, Mike is also finds time to teach Communication courses at Bryant College and New England Technical School. Mike enjoys playing softball, making his homemade wine and spending time with his family. Mike is married with two daughters.
