Hot Mulled Cider

Ingredients:

2 qt apple cider or juice 
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 oranges, washed
10 whole cloves
6 cinnamon sticks
1 tsp. nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Put cider in large saucepan.
  2. Add spices and sugar to pan. 
  3. Slice 1 orange and add to pan.
  4. Bring to boil.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Remove spices.
  7. Serve warm with orange wedge or apple slice

Note:  To make an alcoholic cider, add rum atep 5.  Keep on heat until simmering, and then serve.
